Made from durable metal bracket and servo mechanism by Flipper, each F1 Electric Flippable Licence Plate Support kit adjusts the license plate between a streamlined position and a road legal angel at the touch of a button with real-time illumination for visibility.

Universal and compatible with almost all scooters, street, sport and dirt bikes with minimal effort as an add-on on the existing number plate holder that was already installed. This means it matches all motorbikes provided minimal clearance underneath the existing license plate mount. Easy to install without intefering with the original license plate light and indicators. Built-in control box ensures functionality with no battery drain plus maximum compactness, and the IP65-rated servo housing tested to withistand vibrations, moisture and extreme temperatures.

Secure Lock Mode can be activated to permanently lock the plate in its road-legal position. Such tamper-resistant feature safeguards against accidental or unauthorised adjustments and requires exclusive input to deactivate. License plate's flip angle can be configured to preference upon request.

DOES IT FIT MY BIKE?

As long as there’s enough clearance between your number plate and your rear tyre to allow for the flipping motion, the F1 Plate Flipper can be seamlessly mounted to your bike. It’s compatible with both OEM plate holders and aftermarket tail tidy setups.

HOW DO I install it?

The F1 Flipper Kit is designed to be DIY-friendly, with no wire splicing or soldering required. We've engineered the system for straightforward installation using plug-and-play connections. However, if you’re unsure at any point, we strongly recommend seeking professional assistance or contact us directly at info@flipperworks.com.

In some cases, minor trimming of the lower section of your plate holder may be necessary—particularly with triangular-shaped designs like those from R&G or Evotech etc.

Please follow our step-by-step INSTALLATION GUIDE (link) carefully to ensure proper setup. While we offer a 6-month warranty covering manufacturing defects, we cannot be held responsible for any issues resulting from incorrect installation.

WHAT IS THE 'SAFE LOCK MODE'?

SAFE LOCK MODE is our most advanced tamper-resistant feature developed to enhance security and legal compliance.

When activated through a specific input sequence, the flipper locks in position—the legal, visible plate position—and remains there even when the motorcycle is switched off.

In this mode, the system goes completely silent:

  • No illumination on control button
  • No feedback from the control button
  • Servo Motor maintains

It’s designed to make the system discreet and inactive, preventing any tampering or unintended activation.

In Normal Operation Mode, the system is designed to be smart and efficient. Once our onboard chip detects that the bike is switched off, it will automatically cut power to the unit—ensuring no unnecessary battery drain.

However, when the unit is placed in SAFE LOCK MODE, please be aware that power is continuously drawn to maintain the locked state. Please always DEACTIVATE when not in use to avoid extended periods in SAFE LOCK MODE without running the bike, especially if your battery is already low or the bike is stored for long periods.

HOW TO SET A CUSTOM FLIP ANGLE?

Once you place your order, we will send you a manual confirmation email within 1 working day with clear instructions on how to measure and submit your preferred flip angle.

If your bike has a high-mount exhaust or a unique setup, this allows you to choose the most suitable angle for your build. It’s a simple process, and we will guide you step-by-step to make sure everything fits and functions perfectly.

WOULD I HAVE TO STOP & CHECK?

No, there’s no need to stop and check. We’ve designed the control button with real-time illumination to give you instant feedback. If the plate is flipped, the button will light up. If the plate is in its normal position, the button remains unlit. It's a simple, reliable way to know the status of your plate at a glance.

Where is the FLIPPER manufactured?

Every F1 Flipper Kit is designed, developed, and hand-assembled in our London workshop. We program, assemble, and thoroughly test each unit before it leaves our hands to ensure it meets the highest standards of quality and reliability.

As bikers ourselves, we understand the importance of a robust and dependable system—because we ride with it too. We work with trusted suppliers both locally and globally to source the components we’ve specifically designed for this kit, ensuring every part meets our exacting standards.

How is it different with other ones on the market?

The F1 Flipper has been prototyped and tested in real-life riding conditions by ourselves before it becoming available on June, 2025, making it the most refined and comprehensive version we' have built to date.

Throughout development, we tackled several key issues commonly found in other units—such as unreliable electronics, gear wear from vibration, and inconsistent performance. We have custom designed our own motor, developed a dedicated PCB with our proprietary software, and introduced features such as SAFE LOCK MODE.

To combat vibration—especially from the Z-axis movement—we have integrated rubber damping pads and vibration-isolating bushings, significantly improving long-term durability and motor life. Our control algorithms actively compensate for regular road vibration and movement, ensuring consistent and smooth flipping.

We are the only unit on the market with a software-based SAFE LOCK MODE, eliminating the need for any external switches while enhancing security and reliability.

In short words, it’s a precision-system built by riders for riders.

Can I mount it directly to my bike's under -tray?

Our number plate flipper is uniquely engineered to mount directly onto the existing plate holder or tail tidy,—not the bike’s under-tray, and we are the only one on the market doing it this way.

This fundamental difference in mounting location is what allows our design to deliver superior reliability and durability.

Mounting a flipper directly to the under-tray creates a structural flaw: the servo motor and its internal gears become the main stress point between the plate and the bike frame (the point where the
bracket fixed to). This setup forces the motor to absorb every bit of engine vibration, road shock, and aggressive riding impact. Over time, this leads to premature wear and potential failure of the gear mechanism, no matter how strong / powerful the motor & gear might be.

Our approach solves this issue by lowering the servo motor—i.e.,
repositioning the pivot point
—thereby significantly reducing the leverage and force applied to the gears. However, lowering the pivot point presents a major design challenge: it requires the entire mechanism to be extremely compact while still delivering full performance. This is a challenge we have overcome.

To further protect against wear, our kit includes rubber vibration-
damping pad & bushings to minimize Z-axis (vertical) vibration, preserving
the servo motor and extending its service life even further.

Our prototype FLIPPER has been working strong for 14 months to
07/2025 before it was taken off the testing bike.
